Coming this fall, a very special anthology perfect for the holidays: Eight Very Bad Nights — 11 crime stories by some of the masters of the genre and some up-and-coming stars: Lee Goldberg, Ivy Pochoda, Jim Ruland, David L. Ulin, Gabino Iglesias, Liska Jacobs, Nikki Dolson, Stefanie Leder, J.R. Angelella, James DF Hannah, and yours truly! This is the first time my brother and I have been in the same book and I promise, you’ll wonder what exactly is wrong with us. We’ll be setting up events around the country so check back soon for dates in your area.

Putting together this anthology was a labor of love. Several years ago, I appeared in the Soho anthology The Usual Santas with my story “Blue Memories Start Calling” which I particularly enjoyed writing (I later tweaked it a little for The Low Desert and re-titled it “The Last Good Man”). So much so, in fact, that I pitched the idea of doing a similar anthology but focused on Hanukkah. Soho said yes and that meant I now had to put together a dream team of noir writers. Plus, I knew I wanted to get my brother in the book, because I had a feeling it would yield deeply weird results. I think you’ll find that I was right…I’ll have more info about the book in the coming months, but for now, just go ahead and pre-order it…
